Every interpretation remains visibly separate from factual metadata. Objects link back to their source records, and uncertain dates or attributions are marked as such.
Scope
The archive follows representations made between 1275 and 2025. “The West” is not treated as a single, stable voice: the chapters preserve differences between countries, institutions, media, periods, and political positions.
Images and rights
Historical media must have a traceable source and a recorded rights status. Generated imagery may guide interface design, but it will never appear as historical evidence.
